Ashley McEvoy is Executive Vice President, Worldwide Chair, Medical Devices, Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and a member of the J&J Executive Committee. Touching the lives of 278 million patients every year, Ashley oversees the second largest MedTech company in the world. J&J Medical Devices comprises Orthopaedics, Surgery, Cardiovascular, Stroke and Specialty Solutions, and Eye Health businesses, which includes 11 platforms that generate more than $1B in sales annually. The Medical Devices business sector has a comprehensive global presence, with 70,000 employees located in practically every region around the world.

Ashley and her team have driven a notable business momentum shift and achieved accelerated, competitive growth. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, she mobilized her teams to partner with healthcare professionals, health systems and patients to ensure people around the globe received access to the treatments they needed, and education on how to safely re-enter the healthcare ecosystem.

Ashley and her team prioritize creating meaningful innovation and medical interventions that are smarter, less invasive, and more personalized at a lower cost. Her disciplined approach to portfolio optimization has enabled Medical Devices to advance its strategy by continuously investing in the core businesses, while progressing areas of strategic importance with high growth potential. Under Ashley’s leadership, there have been more than $10B in acquisitions and strategic collaborations in Medical Devices, representing 150 different deals to enable growth and address unmet patient needs. Ashley has also spearheaded the company’s entrance into robotics and digital surgery with the commercially available platform, MONARCH®, and novel data software systems like C-SATS and Visible Patient.

Ashley has been with Johnson & Johnson for more than 20 years and has served in leadership roles with increasing scope and responsibility in J&J’s Consumer and Medical Devices sectors. She is a passionate people and performance-based leader who has delivered above-market results for all four multi-billion-dollar global companies that she has led. She also champions and advances diversity, equity and inclusion to enable forward-thinking teams who can drive value and industry change that achieves racial, social and health equity.

Ashley’s accomplishments have been recognized by numerous business and philanthropic organizations. She was recognized in Fortune magazine’s 2019 list of the “Most Powerful Women” and was ranked #1 on the Top 25 Women Leaders in Medical Devices list by The Healthcare Technology Report.  Ashley serves on the Boards of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation.
